Pearson以5億3800萬美元收購eCollege

　　中圖在線消息：以9億5千萬美元收購Harcourt子公司后不到兩周，Pearson公司又以5億3800萬美元收購了在線遠程教育公司eCollege(ECLG)。隨后又將以4100萬美元現金的價格將eCollege的子公司Datamark出售給eCollege公司首席執行官Oakleigh Thorne。eCollege去年銷售總額為5200萬美元，而收購價格為年收入的10倍，大大超過了支付給傳統出版商的銷售/價格比。在周五的時候，兩家私營股權公司僅同意為湯姆森學習出版集團支付約為其3倍銷售額的收購價格。

　　eCollege公司起步于1996年，其業務大部分是針對于大學生與中學生，為各年級學生提供在線課程材料。僅2006一年，每一門課程平均約有120萬名學生報名。Pearson公司認為自己的“規模與范圍”將使得eCollege公司在美國與全球市場都能取得更大的進步。被收購后，ecollege公司仍將繼續和其他出版商一同開發課程教材，同時Pearson公司也將會透過他們的服務為其他的遠程教育商提供材料。
