《Mister-Pip》獲得英聯邦作家獎

　　中圖在線消息：新西蘭作家勞埃德.瓊斯憑借小說《Mister Pip》獲得2007年英聯邦作家獎。此項比賽的候選者均來自以英語為官方語言的國家。

　　勞埃德.瓊斯生活在新西蘭惠靈頓，是繼1989年Janet Frame后第一個獲得最佳圖書獎的新西蘭作家。

　　《Mister Pip》講述的是在戰爭時期的太平洋上的一個小島，一位老師在鄉村里教書，給那里的孩子帶來了極大的希望。這本書后來在動亂中被毀，他鼓勵這些孩子慢慢回憶故事片段，復述故事。利用文學作品教會孩子們學會忍耐。

　　“這是個迷人的故事,說明書籍可以以極驚人的方式改變我們的生活。”擔任評審委員的Nicholas Hasluck說到.

　　獲獎者名單在金士敦的Calabash國際文學節上宣布，比賽的組織者在周日宣布瓊斯獲得了19840美元的獎金。
